2.0 Float 22 Avalanche Airbag

The latest research shows that your chances of surviving an avalanche are twice as good if you're wearing an airbag than if you're not. The reason why everyone isn't wearing one, however, is because of weight, bulk, and expense. Backcountry Access solves those problems with the Float series. The Float 22 Avalanche Airbag 2.0 is BCA's medium-sized pack, designed for morning tours and extended through-the-gates adventures.

The Float airbag system is light, affordable, and easy to use, and most importantly, it could save your life. It uses a compressed air cylinder to almost instantly inflate a 150-liter airbag that helps keep you at or near the surface of a slide in order to minimize rescue time and blunt force trauma from debris and hidden obstacles. Backcountry Access also has the world's most extensive network of cylinder refill and exchange centers, making it easier for you to get a new compressed air cylinder after you have to deploy your airbag.

The Float 22 Avalanche 2.0 features enough volume to stash your climbing skins, snacks, an extra layer, and, of course, all the avalanche safety essentials. In fact, it has dedicated shovel and probe sleeves so you can quickly access your avalanche rescue tools when the worst happens. A diagonal ski carry holds you planks when you have to boot pack, and BCA also offers a snowboard carry attachment (sold separately) for the snow surfers.
