Why We Like The Asolo Stynger GORE-TEX Hiking Boot
Lace up the Asolo Stynger Gore-Tex Hiking Boot when you're covering long distances on the trail but don't want the weight or bulk of beefy boots. These sporty boots weigh only 2lb 7oz (size 6.5), but pack in the heavy-duty features that make big hikes more comfortable. A Gore-Tex lining keeps your feet nice and dry as you wade through streams and puddles from last night's rain, and the bi-density rubber soles provides excellent traction on muddy hillsides and slick rocks. The Asobrake heel design makes getting down the hills with a heavy load a more pleasant experience while anti-pronation and anti-torsion shanks in the midsole keep your joints aligned through the miles. The Stynger's lacing system locks your heel in place to eliminate lift and allows precision footwork on rough, steep trails that feel impossible in a big pair of waffle stompers.

Great Boots - Fit, Comfort, Longevity
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
This is my second pair of these boots. First pair lasted about 10 years. My new pair fit perfectly and broke in immediately. Very comfortable and great ankle support with binding or being restrictive.

Great heavy boot
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
I returned these boots because the 6 was too large and 5.5 not available. Disappointed ☹️

Heel is raw
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
The boot is a great quality boot. The fit is good however on steep technical hills my heel slips a tad and has completely made my heel so raw that I cannot put a shoe on. I have broken them in and attempted 3 separate hikes all to no avail of a happy heel at the end. Down hill, the toe stays put and feels great, I just cant seem to go uphill comfortably. We have all types of terrain S. New Mexico and the sole is great for cactus, slipper rock, and hot surface. I wanted to like them much more than I do. Size 6 is what the chart recommends but it just doesn't work. Even doubling socks.

Heavy, not for narrow heels.
After a ton or research I settled on these hiking boots. I have a normal forefoot and very narrow heels and experience slippage in many shoes. First, they run quite large. All my athletic footwear is a size 8. I'm a 7 in Asolo. With major modifications I minimized slippage: TWO surgeon knots for lacing, Superfeet insoles for hiking boots added and thick socks. They still slipped a bit and I would have to retie frequently. Feet were also quite hot as they are not breathable or particularly flexible. Traction on Arizona dusty, fairly smooth, rocky terrain was acceptable. Would not repurchase.

Best boots
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Asolo, you've done it again. Last pair I had was the all leather version. Loved those to pieces and had to buy a new pair. These are amazing right out of the box. Perfect fit, no weird hot spots or rubbing. The tapered sides of the tongue are the best. Makes for less bunching at the top. I did an 8 mile hike right away. Best boots by a mile.

Climbed Kilimanjaro in these!
- Familiarity:
- I've put it through the wringer
Yup - I did it. My first big hike/trek, and after a ton of research - I bought these. They were fantastic - prevented small rocks from getting in, kept my feet warm, didn't make my feet sore or get blisters, and got me to THE TOP! I broke them in on a few hikes, of course. And after, I wore them on multiple safaris and also a full month living in the bush in Botswana - on a Trails Guide course. Very happy I got these!

Awesome Hiking Boots
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
I have used these several times this summer. They have great tread for steep hard packed dirt and also scree. Nice ankle support and water resistant in rain or soggy soil. I imagine from the support they would be good for backpacking. Nice and wide in the forefoot for comfort and fit.
