Why We Like The Morada 4 Tent

When we head into the wild with three of our buddies, we bring along the protective comfort of the ALPS Mountaineering Morada 4 Tent. We shield ourselves from the wind, rain, cold, and hungry wildlife in this lightweight, factory-sealed backcountry home. This freestanding tent clips together with sturdy 7000-series aluminum poles, one of which increases the height of the tent with a short cross-over, while two doors and vestibules give our backpacking party plenty of breathing room and storage space.

Very happy with purchase!

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

We bought this just before taking a large group of teenagers on a 4 day trek in the high Uintahs, where it poured most days and the wind did its best to blow the tent away. I was amazed. Tent didn't budge, stayed warm and not a drop of water came in. We were one of the few who didn't have tent problems. It was very roomy for the two of us with lots of first aid gear. Recommend.

Great tent!

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This tent is bomb-proof. Well made and the fly fits to the ground. There's very little mesh in this tent, so I wouldn't try to use it in the summer. More of a fall/winter/early spring tent unless you're going to get a lot of snow. It would probably be fine, but it's not advertised as a 4 season tent. The tent poles are very strong.

Exceeded my expectations!

I recently purchased this tent for a week long camping trip with my kids. I’ve owned several tents and have camped my whole life. I picked this tent because I liked how the rain fly came all the way to the ground, two vestibules and plenty big enough for the three of us. Our second night an incredible storm blew in, torrential rain and high winds. As this is only a 3 season tent I was slightly concerned at first but it held up much better that expected! Heavy rain and high winds for three days and never had a problem! Very impressed! I did add one small cord to each of the factory sewed grommets on each side/bottom of the rain fly and secured them to the ground just to hold the fly out a little farther. Definitely not a big deal. Can’t wait to go again! Thank you Backcountry and Alps Mountaineering!

attachment point seam on Rainfly

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I was camping in windy conditions, and wanted to tighten down all the attachment points of the rain fly to the tent. One of the seams tore along the stitching very easily and got worse during a windy night with strong gusts. I've only used the tent a couple of times.
