Why We Like The Dogwood + Sleeping Bag

We pack along the Dogwood + Sleeping Bag from ALPS Mountaineering when our multi-day trek takes us from balmy summer evenings to crisp fall mornings. The quilted down top flips open to give us full access to passing breezes but also easily tucks in when the air gets a bite. A mix of hydrophobic down on the top and synthetic insulation on the bottom turns us into the perfect toasty sandwich for dipping temps in the great outdoors.

Poor product and misleading specs

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

First off, this bag uses tabs instead of a zipper. It's a pretty terrible system for cooler weather as it leaves huge gaps. I also don't see how it can be rated for 40 degrees F. It was barely sufficient for 60. The only decent feature is the size, but for the price, there have to be better options. I'm just glad I tested it out before taking it on a backpacking trip.

Good DESERT BAG IN WARMER WEATHER.

Familiarity:
I've used it several times

Most of the reviews point to thin top but after using it Warm weather desert did fluff a little more like a quilt has lot lot room to move then a mummy and it has only. A couple fastened points. no zipper at all to close more like a quilt not bad for warm muggy or. Warm dry nights like in desert in warm months

very thin, description is misleading. I would only use this at 60F and above.

BAD BAG! Top is ~1/64th inch thick.

Familiarity:
I returned this product before using it

I was excited to get this sleeping bag for summer camping. I pulled it out of the tiny sleeping bag case, which is like the size of a 2 Liter bottle of soda and rolled it out. I pried to fluff it up, but I was very disappointed at how thin the insulation is. Saying that there is insulation on the top of this is an overstatement, as you can see from the attached pictures. NO INSULATION AT ALL. Maybe there was a manufacturing issue. I would only feel comfortable sleeping in this bag if it was 70° outside.
