The slim design means trouble-free tacking, and the ORC-compliant harness rings won't get you disqualified before the starting horn even squawks. If you suffer a celebratory toss into the lake, this PFD automatically inflates so you stay atop the water, not just your sailing club.

A few caveats for wearing this vest: you should know how to swim and you shouldn't wear this PFD for high-speed, high-impact activities, which includes whitewater kayaking (of any class) and racing jet skis. The way this PDF works is, when your crew dumps you in the water, the bobbin dissolves and releases a spring-loaded pin. The pin punctures the CO2 canister, and within 10 seconds, you should rise above it all. Two redundancies exist just in case the auto-inflator isn't feeling buoyant. The bright yellow pull-tab gives you the chance to try manually initiating the inflation. If that fails, a blow-up tube stands at the ready inside the left front panel. Huff and puff and blow your vest up. If you're in the water for a prolonged period of time, you'll notice a little loss in pressure and will want to top it off via the blow-up tube.
Neoprene around your neck won't leave you hot under the collar, and 500D Cordura remains stalwart against mini-fissures. Not just another wallflower, the Deluxe displays highly reflective SOLAS tape and a strobe light so no one misses you, and a whistle lest their eyes are closed. The re-arm kit is sold separately and lets you use this lovely life vest more than once.
